Tuesday July 26, 2011 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
First Baptist Church of Laurel

The Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Laurel. The Board intends to discuss pending applications for architectural review (if any), delinquent assessments and collection efforts, parking restrictions, penalties for covenant violations, and other issues. If you plan to attend the meeting, please RSVP to [email protected] or (301) 498-1879.

Parking Issues

In April, the Board approved a plan for parking restrictions on most public roads in the community. The restrictions were discussed with residents who attended the meeting and after some adjustments to the Board’s original proposal, a plan was approved generally restricting parking to only one side of each public road. The Board has discussed these restrictions with members of the Laurel City Council in an effort to have those restrictions posted and enforced. Councilman Fred Smalls is expected to attend this meeting to discuss the parking restrictions with residents.

Committee Nominations

The newly formed Covenants Committee, Social Committee, and Neighborhood Watch Committee will nominate a member of each committee to serve as chairperson for a one-year term. The Board is expected to vote on those nominations. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please email us at [email protected]

Community Picnic

The Social Committee will present the Board with a proposal for a picnic on September 10 (rain date, September 11). The Board is expected to discuss the proposal and authorize funding for the event. More details will follow the Board’s discussion of the proposed event.
